First Shoots Long Jing (Dragon Well Tea)
Long Jing (or dragon well) Tea which belongs to the family of Green Tea, is well kown for its unique fragrance and flavour. The flat and slender strips of tea leaves produce a bright green colour tea. This tea is known to be stimulating and good for keeping the mind alert and clear on late nights.
Long Jing Tea production is limited not only by geographical area, but also by season. The most valued Long Jing is the "Pre-Qing Ming" Long Jing. It is produced using the very tender first spring shoots prior to the 5th of April each year. The window period for picking these tea leaves is very short; the period between Qing Ming and Grain Rain (from April 5 to 21) each year is generally considered the prime time to get this highest quality Long Jing Tea.
Our First Shoots Long Jing belongs to this highly prized season batch of very tender first spring shoots.
